Chapter thirteen of Creativity, Inc.: on March 11, 2013 Pixar shut for a day, Notes Day, to find how to cut film costs by about 10 percent; 4,000 emails with a thousand ideas were cut to 120 topics, the most popular being how to make a film even cheaper, John Lasseter opened by reading two and a half pages of criticism of himself, and Catmull says the biggest payoff was that it became safer for people to say what they thought.
