Tommy: Brazil's Senate passed the forty-hour week, seventy-five to one, in both rounds (49 votes were needed). Dougie: same pay, fewer hours? Moving to Brazil. Town hall: find him! Abe: Mayor, who voted no? Mayor Dithers: everyone. Tommy learned something today: the one no was Bolsonaro's former vice-president, a retired general who says workers will lose jobs, while the presidential candidate switched to yes. Dougie: I'm switching to Brazil.

Brazil's 40-hour week passed the Senate 75 to 1 in both rounds, far above the 49 votes needed, with government and opposition alike behind it because polls show it is popular; the lone no was Hamilton Mourão, a retired general and Jair Bolsonaro's former vice-president, who says workers will lose jobs and the state will lose revenue, while presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro switched position and voted yes.
