A Parade Is Mostly One Float

Oct 14, 2026 · 0:30

Juno: the index's profits grow 27% this quarter, quest complete! Mochi: take out the ten biggest contributors and it's about 11%, by Citadel's count. Queen Honeycomb: ten companies supply two thirds of the growth; the smallest 300 are expected to grow about 5%. Tock: roughly 47% of the index reports October 28 to November 3. Juno: a parade is mostly one float.

Beneath the 36% figure sits a steeper one: by Citadel Securities' count the ten biggest contributors supply roughly two-thirds of the S&P 500's expected third-quarter earnings growth, without them the forecast 27% rise shrinks to about 11%, and the smallest 300 companies in the index are expected to grow earnings only about 5%; roughly 47% of the index by weight reports between October 28 and November 3.
