Ren runs up: Anthropic pitched investors with a safety warning. Granny Ume: sixteen point eight billion in quarterly revenue, up 45%, and a warning on the bag. Mio: what warning? Granny: one of its own researchers gives doom more than one chance in ten within a decade, so he says; the president says it won't happen. Poko: Poko is scared.
Anthropic's pitch to investors came with its own warning label: alongside revenue up 45% to $16.8 billion, it emphasised safety at its investor event, after one of its researchers said in September there was a greater than 10% chance AI could kill all humans within a decade and the company said it had disrupted attempts to use its model toward biological weapons; the president says researchers are bringing up things that won't happen, and rival OpenAI's chief says it will not go public this year while it addresses such concerns.
