Who the Robots Come For

Oct 14, 2026 · 0:32

Ren: the robot study named the workers most at risk. Granny Ume: so it says; mostly men, lifting, working outdoors. Mio: not the office people? Chatbots come for desks, robots come for drivers: nine of the ten most exposed jobs drive vehicles; about $23 an hour, not $53; 8% hold a degree against 63%. Poko: still too dear; robots are cheaper than people for only 0.3% of work.

The workers most exposed to robots in the Anthropic study are, by its own comparison, the opposite of those exposed to chatbots: of the most exposed fifth, only 8% hold a degree against 63% of the unexposed, they earn about $23 an hour against almost $53, 31% are women against 51%, 61% frequently lift or carry weight and 55% work outdoors, and nine of the ten most exposed occupations drive vehicles, led by taxi drivers; the study's cost figures still mean no robot stampede is imminent.
