The city of Ledgerville, where a bank sketched a SpaceX-Tesla merger. Mayor Pennywhistle: my car's a rocket now! Baron Von Bottomline: we shall leverage vertical integration and synergize synergies! Dash: he means one company; robotaxis, robots, SpaceX's AI, orbital data centres. Pop: one board for the Terafab chip plan! Zap: sketch; nothing announced.
Barclays' case for a SpaceX-Tesla merger is not the money but the plumbing: one company could put Tesla's robotaxis and Optimus robots together with SpaceX's AI businesses, its Terafab chip project and eventual orbital data centres, and would no longer need separate board approvals for Terafab; the bank says it suspects some financial synergies but that the true value would be in vertical integration, and nothing has been announced.
